In creating this painting, I sought to capture the vibrant yet transient beauty of a blooming flower field under a starlit sky. I used bold acrylic colors to evoke a sense of wonder and mystery, blurring the lines of impressionism and expressionism. This piece breathes life and exuberance, intended to invite viewers into a mesmerizing, floral universe that symbolizes growth and the fleeting nature of life’s beautiful moments. Perfect to energize and inspire any room with its enchanting presence.
When I was young and living in Japan, an older woman I cared about ended up in the hospital. I went to visit her and brought her a bouquet of flowers. She was in a room with other patients, and after recovering and returning home, she told me that she had to explain to the other Japanese women in the room that I meant no disrespect by bringing her cut flowers. She also explained to me that plants rooted in soil meant life and cut flowers meant death. These flowers are rooted in soil.
